Pepper's licence lets you keep using the software you download. ZIP download access comes through a yearly membership. You also pay for hosting, email, backups and the person who maintains the installation.
Pepper’s purchase terms
| Item | Included or separate |
|---|---|
| First year | $99 for one production installation serving one business, including the perpetual licence |
| Continued use | Your license never expires; keep using your installed copy after update access ends |
| Source code | Full source included; you may modify it for the licensed installation |
| Updates | Membership renews automatically at $199/year; cancel anytime to stop future charges |
| Product support | Six months, unless checkout or a written agreement says otherwise |
| Hosting and email | You arrange and pay for these |
Cancellation ends download access after the paid period. Your installed copy keeps working. An update renewal does not extend product support. Additional non-production development and staging installations may use the same license. Each separate business needs its own production license.

Add the license, hosting, email, optional updates and maintenance time for the period you expect to use the software. Compare that total with a hosted service that covers the features and support you need. Include payment-provider costs if your workflow uses one.
Pepper records money received elsewhere. It does not process card payments or supply a bank feed.
