Pepper or Akaunting?

Separate the accounting modules you need from the invoice records Pepper supplies.

Updated

List the business jobs that must share a system. Invoicing, bank reconciliation and a bookkeeping ledger are separate requirements, even when a product groups them on one menu.

Questions for your shortlist

  • Which modules and extensions does the complete workflow require?
  • What does each selected license permit, including client deployments?
  • Who maintains the application and any extensions together?
  • Can you recover the full installation from a tested backup?

What Pepper covers

Pepper supplies one licensed installation for one business: quotes, invoices, fixed-price engagements, recorded payments, manual purchases and tax-period exports. Its records and source live on your hosting.

It does not supply double-entry bookkeeping, a general ledger, bank feeds or accounting consolidation. The accountant export is a hand-off, not an accounting system.

Check the current Akaunting source and license and the terms of any selected apps. Do not assume a previous license description still applies. Pepper has no Akaunting migration tool.
