Use this comparison when your team tracks deals and needs to decide between a hosted sales platform and a pipeline that lives with your quotes, invoices and projects.
What does the pipeline connect to?
Pepper's deals sit beside the customer, the quote, the invoice, the project and the recorded payment, in one installation you run. The quote is the deal's value. Accepting it marks the deal won, once. A won deal offers to open a project with the quote as its agreed scope. Nothing is issued, sent or paid by moving a card.
HubSpot's Sales Hub page describes deal pipelines, email tracking, a meeting scheduler, sales automation, forecasting, sales analytics and reporting and several AI features. It names a free plan and Starter, Professional and Enterprise tiers, with sequences and complex pipelines in the higher tiers. Quoting is described under a separate Revenue Hub. HubSpot's Sales Hub page was checked on 14 October 2026. Plans and limits change; check the offer that applies to you.
| Your question | Pepper | What to check in HubSpot |
|---|---|---|
| Is the quote part of the deal? | Yes. Prepare the quote from the deal; its total before tax is the value | Where quoting lives in your plan and how it links to the deal |
| Can we forecast? | The weighted pipeline uses the stage probabilities you set and names that assumption. There are no forecast categories or quotas | Forecasting and its plan requirements |
| Can we schedule meetings or send sequences? | No. The next step is one line with a date; Home lists the due ones | Meeting scheduling and sequences in your tier |
| Does it score deals or use AI? | No. Pepper has no AI account and makes no suggestions | Deal scoring and the AI features in your tier |
| Where is the data? | In your installation, under your hosting and backups | HubSpot's hosting and data terms |
| What does it cost? | One license for the installation; roles decide who uses Sales | Seats and tiers for each Hub |
Pepper includes a leads inbox, a lead target for forms and website widgets, qualification with a duplicate check, a pipeline board with Won and Lost as outcomes, lost reasons, one next step per record with follow-ups on Home, an overview with the open and weighted pipeline per currency, the win rate and days to Won, and agent tools for the same actions. Read Leads and Deals and the pipeline for the implemented controls and limits.
Bring your contacts and deals
Pepper imports customers and leads from CSV files. Deals, emails, meetings and files do not transfer. Export your HubSpot contacts and companies first, review the columns, then import customers and leads in Pepper. Rows with an email that already exists are skipped and counted.
Try the work that matters to you
In an installed test copy of Pepper, point a form at Leads, submit a test enquiry, qualify it and prepare the quote. Check who can see the deal with the Employee role and with a guest scope.
Keep HubSpot if marketing automation, sequences, meeting scheduling or its reporting carry your sales work. Consider Pepper when you want the pipeline, the quote and the invoice in one installation that you own. The public demo is read-only; it saves no change.
