Request testimonials and private feedback

Ask customers about completed work and publish only the words they consent to share.

On this page

For: a platform customer manager, or a customer workspace owner whose plan includes the selected type. Guests and connected AI clients cannot send requests or approve publication.

Where: Work > Widgets > New widget. Choose Testimonials or Private feedback.

Request a testimonial

  1. Name the widget. Write the Consent statement, up to 120 characters. State what you intend to publish.
  2. Choose Newest first or Set the order. Save, preview and publish the widget.
  3. Open Requests and answers. Choose a customer with an email address. A workspace uses its own collected contacts.
  4. Set Valid for days, from 1 to 90; the default is 30.
  5. Choose Create a link to copy a personal link, or Send request to use the widget’s email sender.

Each link accepts one answer. It belongs to the selected customer and should not be forwarded. Revoke link stops an unanswered request. An expired, revoked, answered or outdated link accepts no new answer. Losing the publisher’s access or deactivating the recipient also stops the request.

“Link created; not sent” means Pepper has only made a link. “Mail accepted for delivery” means the mail service accepted the message; it does not prove inbox delivery or reading. If sending fails, correct the mail setup and create a new request. If delivery is uncertain, check the mail service before creating another request. Pepper does not retry an uncertain send.

Approve the customer’s words

The customer chooses a display name, writes up to 600 characters, optionally rates the work from 1 to 5 and accepts the displayed consent statement. Staff cannot write or edit those values.

Open the answer from Requests and answers, review its text and consent, then choose Approve publication. For manual ordering, set Position and choose Save order. Lower positions appear first. Hide removes the testimonial from public views.

Only approved answers with current consent appear. The customer’s receipt includes a withdrawal link. Ask them to keep it. They can withdraw publication consent even after the widget closes. Pepper then removes the testimonial from new public loads and retains the original consent record.

Editing the statement creates a new question version and closes the widget. Preview and publish that version before sending new requests. Old answers keep the statement the customer accepted.

Ask about completed work

Create and publish a Private feedback widget. Open Requests and answers, choose the customer, then choose completed work.

Platform feedback can refer to a completed project or booking that the manager may read. Workspace feedback uses a completed booking in that workspace. A project must belong to the customer; a booking’s email must match the selected contact. Orders are not a supported source yet.

The customer gives a rating from 1 to 5, can add a private comment and can select Please contact me. That choice creates a lead with the comment for the business to follow up. The rating and comment never become a public testimonial.

You can send a testimonial request to any customer, whatever their feedback rating. Pepper does not filter these requests to favourable ratings.

Read answers and handle privacy requests

The report groups answers by question version. It shows sent requests, answers, sent requests with answers, rating counts and contact requests. Source and staff groups use the completed work recorded when you sent the request. A missing staff assignment has its own label.

The sent-request response rate is sent and answered / sent requests. Copied links count as answers when used, but never enter the sent denominator. Open an answer to read its retained text, consent and permitted files.

Customer and workspace privacy reports include linked requests, answers and consent. A confirmed erasure removes the linked personal answers and withdraws public testimonials. Original consent evidence and private files follow the retention rules in Privacy and customer data. A full restore preserves answers and consent, but closes old unanswered request links. Create new requests after restoring.

Sample testimonials carry a Sample label. They are fictional examples, not customer endorsements of Pepper.
