What is Made with Pepper?
Connect agreed work, invoices, recorded payments and purchases on your own server.
On this page
Made with Pepper connects customers, agreed work, invoices, recorded payments and purchases for freelancers, consultants, small agencies and service businesses.
You install it on your own PHP hosting. One purchase includes the source code and one year of updates. You can keep using the purchased version after update access ends. There is no per-user fee or invoice commission. See pricing and license terms.
See the changelog for release history and supported upgrade paths.
What you can do with it
Start on Home to review attention items and continue saved work. Amounts stay separate by currency. A EUR balance never absorbs USD or JPY amounts.
Create invoices on one sheet. Add line descriptions, quantities, prices, tax rates and discounts. Review the total, then issue the invoice. Made with Pepper assigns its number and freezes the issued original. Review the recipient and message before you send its PDF by email.
Record full or partial payments against an invoice. Follow overdue balances and issue credit notes when you reverse a charge. Payments record money you received elsewhere. Made with Pepper does not transfer it.
Create quotes for customer review. Their connections retain the invoice created from the accepted agreement. Use pro formas for preliminary payment requests. A pro forma creates no application receivable.
Use engagements to record scope and fixed-price milestones. Create invoice drafts from approved milestones and follow their collection. Record purchases, connect supporting files, and prepare a tax period for your accountant.
Keep customers, suppliers, contacts, tags and addresses in connected records. Use the item catalog for saved products, services, prices and tax rates. Keep files with the records they support. Use People and teams for colleagues, local hours, time off and dated rates.
Set up company details, bank accounts, numbering, PDF branding and email templates. Assign built-in or custom roles. Limit guest access by module and, when needed, by named records. Private directory details and financial summaries follow their own permissions.
An eligible issued EUR invoice includes an EPC QR code for supported banking apps. The issued original requests its full total. A current copy requests its remaining balance. See the bank account and currency limits.
Export eligible issued invoices and credit notes as UBL 2.1 files for the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 profile. Made with Pepper checks each document before it writes the file. It does not send that file over Peppol.
The application and database run on your server. Sending email shares the selected document with your email service and recipient. Optional external connections remain off until the owner enables them.
What self-hosted means
Self-hosted means the software runs on your server or hosting account. You control the files, database, backups, and email setup.
Made with Pepper does not host your invoices for you. It gives you the application, source code, and documentation to run it yourself. You handle server maintenance, backups, and keeping PHP up to date.
What Made with Pepper is not
Made with Pepper is not full accounting software. It does not include a general ledger, bank feeds or double-entry bookkeeping. Your accountant handles that part. You can record purchases and prepare a tax period for your accountant, but Made with Pepper does not file a tax return.
Made with Pepper is not a payment processor. It shows payment instructions and EPC QR codes on your invoices, but it does not charge cards or process transactions.
Made with Pepper is not a Peppol Access Point. It exports local UBL 2.1 files for the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 profile. It does not send invoices over the Peppol network or submit them to government portals.
